Re-cycling Empty Re-cycling

What has happened to the virtue of re-cycling at OPW ? I do not like the ugly waste bin stations, but more importantly, I find it hard to believe that the waste collection company sifts through our rubbish in order to salvage re-cyclable items. Does it ALL now go to land fill or it is shipped off to a 3rd world country for segregation ? How can we find out ? What would happen to the site's David Bellamy Gold Award status if the current system is found to be lacking?

Thank you for your valid comment. I stopped re-cycling at OPW when I was told the small bins at the shop (now gone) were just emptied into the rubbish skip. NOT Re-cycled!
